So at our house everyone has the funk! Olivia was sick with a cold all last week, and I started feeling bad on Thursday. I went to the doctor on Friday and I have strep throat and a sinus infection. Mark decided to start feeling bad Friday night! It has just been NO fun at our house. Victoria is the only one doing okay! To finish things off just when we think we are starting to feel better this afternoon Olivia starts to throw up! Why!?! This poor child has never thrown up before so you can only imagine the drama! It has been an interesting night. Off to the doctors tomorrow!

Exciting News

Mark got the job at VTMilcom! On Tuesday Mark starts his new job! VTMilcom is a government contractor that installs different systems on ships. I really don't know a lot about it just that it is a really good job that will allow Mark to grow advance within. This also means that Mark is going to be doing a lot of traveling. I am a little nervous about that since he and I have never really spent much time apart. I am sure I can handle it and its not like technology is not on our side!

On the last day of 2008 my Victoria finally crewled! She is getting so big! While we did get it on video I am having trouble getting it to upload to blogger. Will keep trying. What a good ending to 2008!

A Look Back

Many great things have happened in 2008. The first thing that comes to mind is the birth of my second daughter in May, Miss Victoria Pearl! She is a joy to have and I love seeing her discover new things each and everyday. In August I left Priority Toyota ( a job I loved and people I loved) to work for Courtesy Ford. The change in jobs allowed me to be 5 minutes form my girls vs. 1 hour. While I was not sure I was going to be happy at Courtesy I have come to love and enjoy my job almost as much as Priority not to mention I am about to get a promotion and the pay is a lot better! Another big thing that happened in 2008 is Olivia started Pre-School. She loves to go and is learning so much. It is so hard to believe that she will be 4 years old in July!

With the good comes the bad.....
In March a very close friend of mine lost two of his brothers in a house fire in Chesapeake . While he and his family are doing pretty good I still find myself thing about them everyday. August was a little difficult for us not only did I start a new job but Mark lost his with East Coast Equipment. While he has since found work he continues to look for a career. The day before Christmas Eve we got good news that he will be called in for an interview with VTMilcom in the next week or so. This is a company that my granddaddy had dealings with and it will be a really good thing for Mark and our family. As the year was winding down we had a scare with my dad and his heart and Mark lost his Aunt Martha. It was not quite the end one would want to a year but one can only hope that only great things are in store for the New Year!

Merry Christmas!

We have had a very trying past week. While we were excited about it being Christmas we were also dealing with the loss of a loved one. Marks Aunt Martha lost here battle with cancer on December 22nd. She was a wonderful woman who loved her family, she will be forever missed. The wake was held on Friday and the funeral on Saturday. The week for us has been very long and drawn out. We also were dealing with my dad having two mild heart attacks. He had two 99% blockages and had to have two stints put in. He is home and doing well.
As if things could not get any worse we have all been feeling a little under the weather. Mark woke up Christmas Eve morning throwing up. We were hoping he would feel better by the time we had to go to his brothers but no such luck. I took the girls and went to do the Christmas Eve thing with his family. We had a very nice time. We finished up there around 6ish and I was too tired at that point to travel to my dads so I headed home.
Once we got home we put cookies and milk out for Santa and got ready for bed. Olivia hates to go to bed in her room but since daddy was sick we had to. I decided I would lay with her until she fell asleep. Not a good idea! I woke up at 1am! (Still having to do the Santa thing)
We got up around 7.... Olivia was very excited about all of her gifts. She got two goldfish (we are down to one and he is not looking so hot), lots of play-doh, a soccer ball, stickers, art stuff, and cloths. Victoria got a cute little doll stroller, and baby doll, a toy fish tank, and a cute little monkey toy. I would say that the girls had a great Christmas and Santa was very good to them.
Christmas day my mother and grandparents came to visit and to have dinner. I made a turkey and all the fixings to go with it. I did not want a repeat of last years bad Chinese food!
After all the Christmas day fun it was time to crash and burn!

Christmas is only a few days away and I am getting more and more excited! It is going to be so much fun to watch Olivia open gifts this year and it's Victoria's 1st Christmas! We have finished getting gifts for the family and as long as I stay away from Target and Wal-Mart I am done getting things for the girls! Christmas Eve we will be with Marks family in Chesapeake and with my dad that evening. Christmas day we will be home! My mom and grandparents will come to see what Santa brings to our house, and we will go and spend the weekend with them for our gift exchange. Here are a few family pics from this past week. We had such a busy weekend! Friday evening we did not do much because we knew Saturday and Sunday were jam-packed!

Saturday morning we got up and went to the YMCA to have milk and cookies with Santa! Olivia had a small meltdown when it was her turn! Victoria did just fine… she really had no clue what was going on and she likes everyone! Needless to say we got no pictures!  Maybe we will do better with the mall Santa! HA! HA! HA!
After the YMCA it was time to go home for a quick nap before the Elizabeth City Christmas Parade! Olivia had no clue what a parade was, so to make it fun for her I told her there was lots of lights and the throw candy to the little kids! Wrong answer! While she loved the parade she kept yelling “I want more candy!” I wanted to die! Victoria did great considering I forgot her passie. As long as I was holding her and she could see what was going on we were good! She is so easy going! Then it was back home to hang out with my friend Jessica and her husband Tom and there kids! Jess made chicken-pop-pie and we had a bonfire for the kids. When Mark proceeded to catch to woods behind us on fire because he caught the gas can on fire and had to throw it before he caught himself on fire! No more fire for Mark! (This is not the first time we have had something almost bad happen during a bonfire!) After the fire excitement and we got all the kiddies settled we watched Hancock and just chilled!

Sunday…. All is can say is WOW! Olivia has two birthday parties back to back! One was from 1-3 at the Pizza Inn for Lillian and then the second was from 3-5 at the McDonalds for Eddie! Because of the times of the parties there was no nap which Olivia requires so you can imagine how much fun it was! After all was said and done I needed a drink!

All in All we had a good weekend it was a lot of work and I guess my parents were right it just gets harder as they get older!

Here it is Monday morning I am at work and I feel like I am on Vacation! LOL! Who knew!

Thanksgiving

Wednesday night my brother Josh and his girlfriend Julie came to my house to have a bonfire for my birthday! Mark and I decided that since we don't get to make a turkey and have Thanksgiving at our house, because we have to travel to visit all the family, we are going to have a Thanksgiving breakfast at our house! This year was the first annual Everett Family Thanksgiving breakfast and it was great! We had eggs, sausage (Olivia's favorite), sweet rolls, OJ and milk, toast and I think that was it! Then it was off to Marks grandparents and then to my dads! We did a lot of traveling. It was fun because we got to see people that we only see once in a while. Mark had cousins in from Florida and I go to see my Uncle Charles. This Thanksgiving I really am thankful for family. Here are a few pictures of the kids and my brother Josh.

Wow! I am so sorry that I have gotten this far behind on my blog. It is amazing how quickly time can get away from you. In the past few weeks we really have not had a lot going on. About 2 weeks ago Victoria got her first tooth! I knew it was going to be anytime because she had been chewing on anything and everything. We are still working on the sitting up thing I hope that comes soon, then maybe all the spitting up will stop. Olivia is doing great and she still loves going to school. Her new thing is dancing! This girl really has some moves you should see her dance to Taylor Swift in the middle of my kitchen table! It is a long story she will be getting some kind of stage for Christmas!
Last week was really hard for us, Our 2 year old basset Ollie ate something that made him really sick. The surgery to have him fixed was going to cost $1000.00 money that Mark and I did not have so we were forced to sign him over to the vets office and give him up for adoption. The good news is that he made it thru the surgery fine, the pulled a gallon zipper bag full of plastic from his stomach. My guess was right he did eat an entire kick ball! Mark is really sad about the whole thing and I am too. I just hope that they find him a great home, one without toys for him to eat.
This week is always my favorite because it is my birthday week and Thanksgiving. We will be spending the majority of Thanksgiving Day with Marks parents and then visiting with my dad and siblings later in the day. Since my birthday is Wednesday it is really hard to go out and celebrate so we are going to go out Saturday in Nags Head! I have not been out for a night of fun in a long time so I am really excited! I will be sure to keep everyone posted as to what is going on in our world! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

What a weekend!

Friday was a whirlwind! Mark did not have to work this weekend, so after we got off work on Friday we headed to Manteo, NC where my mom lives to Trick-or- Treat! We had a great time. I was more excited about seeing the girls since they had been gone for a week, than I was the Halloween thing. Manteo is a cute little town that reminds me of Mayberry. The cops close the streets and handed out glow sticks to the kids and the whole town just really gets into the Halloween Spirit! There was one house that was projecting The Wizard of Oz on the building across from it, and another house that had a little scary path for the kids to walk through. Olivia was scared of nothing and loved every second of it. As soon as she would leave on house she would holler, “I want to get more candy mommy!” Olivia was JoJo the clown from the Disney Channel and Victoria was going to be a Pumpkin but she slept the entire time we were out! Poor little thing missed her first Halloween!

Saturday, I was still not feeling too great (I have been fighting a sinus thing) and I slept most of the day. We left my moms Friday evening and went to my grandparent just to visit and let them see the girls. I really enjoy seeing Olivia and Victoria with them! Olivia was so cut she took my grandma some flowers to make her heart feel better. (My grandma has been having chest pains and is having stint put in this week.) Olivia drags my granddaddy all over the place wanting to as much as she can with him all at one time. He loves every second of it…They say she reminds them of me when I was her age. It was a short visit but a lot of fun.
Sunday morning I woke up to an officer at the door telling my granddaddy that some cars has been broke into overnight and wanted him to come and check his and make sure ours were ok. I could not get up fast enough!!! My new Apple Macbook had been left in our car overnight and I just knew it had been stolen! Thank the lord that the people were only targeting unlocked cars and mine was locked! I will never do that again because I know I will not be that lucky next time.
We headed home kind of early so we could get the girls back home and enjoy them for a while before my mom got in for the week to keep them. It is always fun to go away for a while but I do love being home with Mark and the girls! This week should be fun…Hope everyone has a great week…Don’t Forget to Vote Tomorrow!!!

Mark's First Week!

Mark made it through his first week back to work! He is still getting the feel of things but seems to like it. He is laying the lines on the roads...So if you are driving in Chesapeake and see lines going every which way on 64...it was Mark!! He did got a chance to talk to his boss John on Friday and Mark really likes him. The only thing about this job is that it requires some nights and weekends. Mark has to work Halloween night which means he is going to miss out on Trick-or Treating with the girls in Manteo :( Small price to pay for a job I guess. Maybe things will change between now and then, one can only hope!

The past week Victoria has not been sleeping well. She keeps waking up at 2:30am crying. Mark and I get up and down a few times and finally give in and put her in our bed, which still results in a sleepless night! I am pretty sure that she is teething. She is going to the doctor on Thursday maybe they can tell me what is going on. Her and Olivia are going to my Moms today and will be there until next weekend. My mom has jury duty and she is the babysitter so they have to stay at her house  I am going to miss them. I am so excited about next weekend because we are going to spend Halloween in Manteo. Olivia gets to Trick-or-Treat under the Sea at the North Carolina Aquarium in Manteo on Thursday the 30th. She loves to go there. I will be sure to post Halloween Pics.

Nags Head Weekend!

Friday, my mother took Olivia and Victoria home her for the weekend! Giving Mark and I some much needed time together. Things have been very stressful with him out of work and we needed time to relax and really enjoy each other.
We decided to go to Nags Head to my grandparents house and just take it easy before Mark returns to work on Monday!! :)
My friend Kirby and her boyfriend Colton came too. My grandparents left for a cruise on Friday so we had the house to ourselves. We went to the Outlets on Saturday during the day and made a big seafood dinner that night. Then we sat around and enjoyed uninterrupted adult conversation in the hot tub, it was so nice. This morning we all got up and went out for breakfast and then took our time getting ready to head back home. I really had a nice weekend and I feel rested and ready for a new week. Mark is very excited about his new job tomorrow. We don't know for sure what he is going to be doing but I will be sure to fill everyone in.
Victoria is home with us right now and Olivia will be home in a few with my mom. While my mom and stepdad had Victoria they discovered that she does not spit-up if you give her spoon food and a 4oz bottle all at the same time. I guess it makes since. I like to have a drink with my meals. So far she has not spit up the first bit all day! And for some reason her clogged tear duct seems to be better all on its own! My stepdad way did a great job with her this weekend!
Time to finish getting the house back in order and get ready for work tomorrow!

Here is the update! Mark got a job! My boss Vikki, her boyfriend John owns a company called Lasting Coastline. They paint stripes on the roads; at least that is my understanding. Vikki mentioned to John that Mark was looking for work a few weeks ago and he did not have anything. Well, he lost a guy earlier this week and Mark spoke with him yesterday and had sort of an interview today. He starts on Monday at 7am!! I am so happy, I was really starting to worry about Marks mental state. Maybe this is a sign that things are going to be okay!

Current Situation!

So, getting up to speed! I am working for Courtesy Ford in Elizabeth City! WOW is all I will say about that..that and I miss Priority! Mark is currently not working! You have to love the economy. He has been out of work since August and is looking so hard for work, nothing yet..will keep u posted.
Olivia started preschool in September and loves it! She is so full of energy I only wish I had half of it. Victoria is 5 months old already :( She is so different than Olivia was as a baby. She is 15lbs! Olivia is 30lbs if that gives you any idea of how thick Miss Victoria is.
My mother is helping us out with childcare right now since funds are tight. So far it is working out well. I enjoy spending time with her, and Olivia loves her!
I am hoping that this blog will allow me to vent! I have a lot of stress in my life right now. Working out is my new passion I try to get to the gym 5 to 6 days a week! My goal is to loose 26lbs by Nov. 26th 2008 My Birthday! We will see what happens!
